Game publisher Mythwright recently announced that Main Sequence, a space simulation game developed by Tumbling Dumpling Studio, is scheduled to launch in Early Access on PC (Steam) on November 12; due to time zone differences, it will become playable in Taiwan on November 13. An Epic Games Store version is also planned, though a release date has not yet been announced. According to the Steam store page, the game does not currently support a Traditional Chinese interface, though a free demo is available.
Main Sequence is a first-person space simulation game in which players pilot a spacecraft across star systems. Starting with mining operations, players gradually establish refining, production, and logistics systems to ultimately build a galaxy-spanning automated industrial network. In the early stages, players possess only a small mining ship and access to a resource-rich asteroid belt; they must manually pilot the craft, use scanners to locate minerals, extract resources from asteroids, and utilize the gathered materials to construct space stations.

As technological research progresses, players can unlock new crafting recipes, production equipment, and various modules for spaceships and space stations. By installing facilities such as refineries and assemblers within a base and connecting them with conveyor belts, players can gradually build comprehensive production lines; additionally, the game offers mining drones and automated transport fleets, allowing players to link multiple space stations via supply routes and fully automate the processes of mining, processing, and transportation.

Both spaceships and space stations offer a high degree of customization; players can freely combine modules—such as hulls, cargo bays, reactors, thrusters, weapons, and windows—to craft vehicles tailored to their specific needs. Completed designs can be saved and reused, and players can also enter “Creative Mode” to build without resource constraints. However, space offers more than just resources and exploration; defensive networks left behind by ancient alien civilizations view industrial activity as a threat. As players expand their reach, they will encounter enemies and engage in space combat—even equipping their ships with weaponry like plasma cannons. Additionally, the game features the exploration of abandoned space stations and the discovery of unique celestial bodies, such as black holes and neutron stars.

The Main Sequence demo launched on May 28 and currently holds an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, with approximately 85% of its 160 reviews being positive; it also surpassed 100,000 Steam wishlist additions in June. The demo allows players to experience features such as mining, space station construction, production line automation, and spaceship design and combat, while also offering the ability to unlock the “Slipstream Drive” to explore the far reaches of the galaxy. The Early Access version is expected to provide around 40 hours of gameplay, where players start as ordinary miners and gradually build a cosmic-scale production and logistics network. The development team plans to keep the game in Early Access for one to two years, continuously adding new content such as factions, spaceship and space station modules, production lines, exploration zones, and characters.
